Take the LibQUAL+ Survey.

As we plan for the future of our libraries, it is important that we understand your perceptions and expectations so that we can provide the services that you need. Between March 10 and March 31, the library will conduct a survey using the Association of Research Libraries’ LibQUAL+. When last conducted at Vanderbilt the LibQUAL+ survey led to the addition of new study rooms, additional computers, and other changes in the campus libraries. Please let your voice be heard by participating.

The Heard Library system will make a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank for each response received. In addition, each survey respondent can choose to become eligible for a drawing for airfare voucher and a number of other great prizes by entering an email address at the end of the survey.

To access reports: click on the DATA section, then chose SUPPLEMENTS. Automotive News is a premier trade publication for the industry. As subscribers, we can access online global industry details such as: production, sales, & incentives by country or region and type of vehicle and model.  Check out the new online version now.

New Database: Morningstar Cost of Capital Resources Center

Industry Analysis module, originally published as Ibbotson’s Cost of Capital, reports by SIC code detailed statistics for sales and profitability, capitalization, beta, valuation multiples, financial ratios, equity returns, capital structure and more.
SBBI (Stocks, Bonds, Bills and Inflation) Valuation essentials provides data from Ibbotson’s Valuation Yearbooks from 1999 to the present.
Company Betas module features the analysis found in Ibbotson’s Beta Book, current and historical data for 5,000 companies.
International Cost of Capital module includes the “International Cost of Capital Report” with estimates of the cost of equity for 170 countries from US and international investors; the “International Equity Risk Premia Report” provides historical equity risk premia in $USD and local currency for 16 countries dating back to 1970. New Database: EIU: Economist Intelligence Unit

EIU (Economic Intelligence Unit) provides specialized data & forecasts on over 200 countries and global economic indicators and forecasts. This includes data series on economic structure, foreign payments, external debt stock, external debt service, external trade, trends in foreign trade, and quarterly indicators. The Country Reports are in-depth and include political and economic data and policies. Older EIU reports can be found in the Business Source Premier database. Of special note is the Data Tool which is a report generator for the over 700,000 data elements in the system. Check out this database now.

New Database: Gale Directory Library

This database provides access and cross searching for the Gale online directories that have been purchased by the Library. A link to a list of available titles is available on the search page. For now, this list includes the Encyclopedia of Associations: International Organizations, National Directory of Nonprofit Organizations, and Encyclopedia of Associations: National Organizations of the U.S. Check out this database now.

New Database: DemographicsNow

This database offers a variety of ready-made demographic data reports, which can be customized by geography. Identify patterns and trends regarding household expenditures, market penetration and location of goods and services. Check out this database now.

New Database: UniWorld

With this database you can find U.S. corporations with operations in other countries and also firms based in other countries with locations in the United States. It includes 190 countries and 130,000 companies. It is searchable by: region, country, state, keyword, industry type, revenue, number of employees and zip code which can be exported into MS Excel. New Database: Global Insight Advanced Country Analysis and Forecast

Using the combination of DRI and WEFA data, use this database to find economic and financial forecasting for 200+ countries. It offers: same-day reaction analysis and commentary; key monthly, quarterly, and annual economic indicators; risk assessments; economic developments and trade profiles by country; and historical data going back to 1970. Users can choose to download data, perform comparisons, and use the database’s graphing capabilities. Check out this database now.
