On WML’s homepage, you’ll now notice in the bottom left quadrant a link to the 25th Anniversary Celebration PowerPoint Presentation that was shown during the event last Thursday, April 19th. Didn’t get an opportunity to see it during the party? View it here now! It includes pictures of Owen’s construction in the early 1980’s and the library staff who first worked in the Walker Management Library. There are even a few pictures of current library staff, but from 1982. We had a blast putting this slideshow together, and hope you enjoy it!
The presentation opens in Windows Media Player and runs for about 10 minutes.
If you have any questions about the video or experience any technical difficulties, please contact Rachel Vacek,
rachel.vacek@owen.vanderbilt.edu.
We hope you enjoyed last week’s festivities and would love comments. Thanks!

Twenty-five years ago, the Walker Management Library moved into the wonderful new Owen Graduate School of Management Building. On April 19th, from 12:50 to 2 pm, we will take a few moments to celebrate the Library and the people who make the Library a place for research, study, and reflection - our staff, our faculty and our students. Please join us for cake and champagne to recognize the last 25 years and to look forward to the future.
Brief remarks from Dean Bradford and Walker Library Director Flo Wilson will occur at 1:15 pm.
The publicity bloggers (including OwenBloggers) get for putting their voice out there can help them land a great job or could derail any possible opportunities for successful employment. You know you are going to be Googled before being hired, so be careful what you say. Sarah E. Needleman, author of a recent WSJ article says “corporate recruiters have long surfed the Web to vet potential hires, but now they are also surfing blogs to unearth job candidates, expanding their talent pool and gaining insights they say they can’t get from résumés and interviews.” Check out the full Wall Street Journal article.
